20 Nov 54m Baltic 175 sloop Ravenger completes extensive refit
The 53.9-metre Baltic 175 sloop Ravenger, formerly known as Pink Gin VI, has completed a substantial nine-month refit between 2023 and 2024. As the largest full-carbon composite sloop in the world, Ravenger has undergone a complete exterior repaint, guided by her owner’s team and Finnish designer Jarkko Jämsén. Originally delivered by Baltic Yachts in 2017, the vessel now features a significantly enhanced rig, sailplan, and sailing systems, alongside a fully restyled interior by Design Unlimited to maximize onboard comfort.
The refit involved key structural modifications, including an extended 1.5-metre bowsprit, a new headstay, and backstays fitted with a deflector, refining her performance potential. Previously designed as a pure cruiser, Ravenger’s new owner has reimagined her as a high-performance racer, with enhancements that have already allowed her to exceed 20 knots in cruising mode. Upgrades such as faster winches and weight-saving refinements further improve her agility and handling.

In addition to exterior modifications, Ravenger’s two-level saloon has been reconfigured to include a breakfast bar in place of the original piano. Aesthetic refinements include dark-stained oak finishes throughout guest areas, complemented by new cabinets, bookshelves, ceiling panels, and flooring. Despite these updates, Ravenger retains her iconic fold-out balconies in the saloon and owner’s suite, preserving a distinctive hallmark of her original design. The exterior now also features a streamlined hardtop bimini and bespoke helm pedestals with an additional bimini above.
The refit was led by Mikael Nyberg and Tommy Johansson, senior project managers at Baltic Yachts, with a strong focus on acoustic enhancements. Johansson highlighted new noise-reduction technologies, including a redesigned bedding mount system and improved ceiling panel fastenings, ensuring that Ravenger remains at the forefront of comfort and innovation. With these upgrades, Ravenger has evolved beyond her original concept, emerging as a versatile, high-performance sailing yacht prepared for both luxury cruising and competitive racing.
