20 Nov World’s largest carbon fibre sailing yacht completes “transformational refit” at Baltic Yachts
The 53.9-metre sailing yacht Ravenger, formerly known as Pink Gin VI, has completed an extensive 10-month refit at Baltic Yachts’ Jakobstad facility. Delivered in 2017 as the world’s largest carbon fibre sloop-rigged sailing yacht, Ravenger remains a benchmark in lightweight performance cruising. The refit, following her sale through Edmiston and Fraser, focused on aesthetic and performance enhancements, including significant updates to her rig, sailplan, and interiors. Finnish designer Jarkko Jämsén led the exterior refinements, while Design Unlimited reimagined the yacht’s interiors with softer tones and light oak veneers.
The refit introduced major rig upgrades, including a rebuilt mast supporting a square-top mainsail, a triple headsail configuration, and larger code and offwind sails. Structural improvements include a 1.5-metre extended bowsprit, a replaced headstay, and new running backstays with deflectors, optimizing her race-ready capabilities. The helm stations were also modernized, incorporating improved ergonomics and a carbon-fibre framework supporting an additional helmsman’s Bimini.

Interior changes maintain Ravenger’s spacious and elegant feel, with hand-carved timber furniture in the owner’s suite and a breakfast bar replacing the grand piano in the saloon. Key features such as the fold-out balconies in the saloon and owner’s cabin remain, reinforcing her indoor-outdoor luxury living concept. A complete noise reduction overhaul was implemented, with new bedding mounts and ceiling fastening systems enhancing onboard comfort.
Senior project managers at Baltic Yachts emphasized the refit’s goal: future-proofing Ravenger for both racing and exploration. Lighter, faster Harken deck winches replaced the originals, significantly reducing weight. While her hull colour remains unchanged, the gold cove line is now black, giving Ravenger a sleeker, modernized aesthetic. The yacht is now set for her next adventures, whether on the regatta circuit or venturing off the beaten path.
